All of us have problems in life. Each one has and finds out ways to tackle the problem. However, the way we look at a problem; our attitude determines the way we can find a solution to the problem. Be it any circumstances; a bad workplace or work environment, a bad or broken home or a strict parent, spoilt child or a difficult spouse, it is our attitude that determines our moods and how we tackle the problem.
A person having a positive attitude in life towards any problem, maintains good moods and is able to tackle the problem in such a way that one gets success. It is purely in one’s hands how he react towards it; has an attitude towards it which helps one to change the circumstance to our advantage or lose in the bargain. No one can control other’s action but surely have control over ones’ own attitude in life. Each person can by his attitude change his mood to be more confident and sure and say to themselves, “I choose
to be happy/successful/healthy in life.
A person being abused by his/her spouse may choose to leave the relationship and be happy or stay in it and be a center of self pity and denial. So it is all got to do with attitude and once one changes his attitude he changes his moods too. In the case of a abused wife she can say to herself, “I choose to end this marital relationship and choose to be happy by taking up a job and other activities to make myself happy and self-dependent.
It is best for one to believe that it is in our hands to be happy or unhappy. We have senior citizens living with their children who find a waste of time and money to host lunch and dinner parties and go on picnics. Some may end up with a quarrel each day about the easy go lucky happening of their young children and their families. However if they are dependent on their children and encourage and cooperate with their children and also enjoy themselves they can be happy and will be well-cared for also.
Similarly in the present situation of the economic meltdown, a pink slip may mean doom, depression, or loss of self-esteem in some, but this could mean opportunities for the others to think of how they can be more productive, of things they may have wanted to do which their busy schedule did not allow them to do; like doing baby-sitting, trying out or freelance writing opportunities (if one could write) or better still time to relax and figure out a suitable course of action. These positive thinkers keep their moods good by figuring out opportunities available for them to exploit.
Hence it has been well said and it has been practically also found that one’s attitude determines one’s moods and it is this which makes a big difference between being happy or sad, failure or success, cheerful or nagging. So now for the best to one and all to be a boss of one’s own moods, which he determines by his attitude only.
