
If someone told you that if you sleep too much you are harming yourself they could be wrong. When you sleep good things happen to your body as your body utilizes this time to heal itself from all the work that it has done. Sleeping helps your muscles repair themselves so that when you wake up you can use them again. It is a time when your body basically rejuvenates itself.
Not sleeping enough or lack of sleep on the other hand is detrimental to your help. It does not help concentration and leads to a person being very short tempered. Sleeping has many positive effects and studies have shown that getting the right amount of sleep can also help in weight control and weight loss as well. It has also been observed that those who don’t allow themselves the luxury of sleeping for about 6 to 7 hours tend to be over weight and sometimes even obese. This phenomenon occurs because lack of sleep affects the hormones which control our appetite. When you deprive yourself of sleep the hormones are imbalanced causing you to eat more than what you would normally do. Sufficient sleep allows these hormones that control your hunger to remain in balance.
Sleeping on the job or while at work is considered to be inappropriate. Incase you do get caught by your boss your napping could lead to you getting a warning or even terminated. However napping does help to rest your body and helps you get rejuvenated causing you to be less stressed out, more productive and helps you to function at a higher level. This brief rest helps you become smarter and in fact in some countries the afternoon nap is a standard norm. It has also been observed that napping helps to reduce the risk of succumbing to heart related diseases and increases a persons overall vigor and vitality.
