If you are anything like me then you love your cup of morning coffee. You wake up in the morning all groggy and grumpy and that cup seems to be your only hope of having a good day. I believe I am in a cycle where the coffee I drink keeps me alert during the day and through most of the night.
I realized my addiction a few months ago and am trying my best to get rid of it. I got several people to share their ideas with me on what is the best solution for my addiction. Some of the best advice leaned on being motivated to give up the habit.
When you realize your addiction the next thing you need to get is to get motivated. List down the bad effects that caffeine has on your body like dependence, insomnia and health related issues. Keep the list in your sight of vision so that it helps you to stay away from the cup of coffee every day.
Keeping alternative drink options around is not a bad idea. It helps to take you mind of the cup that you are missing. Orange juice is a good option to coffee in the morning. It gives you the same amount of energy that the caffeine dose would. In addition to since it is a god source of Vitamin C you have plenty of benefits to gain from it.
Keep in mind that you will go through withdrawal symptoms but you must not give in to them. Irritation, difficulty in concentrating, itchiness and headaches will get you to thinking that you are better of with your dose of caffeine but you must remind of the long term damages that it does to your body.
Talk about your addiction to friends and family and ask them to help you out especially in the initial days so that you are away from that cup of coffee for good.
