Who doesn’t love food? I haven’t till date met a person who didn’t like to eat. As humans we work to fulfill our basic needs of food, clothing and shelter. While we are well aware of the fact that there are certain foods that are good for you while there are many that are not so good for you, we are still notable to resist our urges and give into our cravings. Most of the times we end up getting sick or causing harm to our body internally.

Amongst the other evils that certain foods bring with them; they also have a tendency to cause head aches and in some severe case even migraines. Foods with added coloring generally lead to headaches. Those that have the colors in highly concentrated portions generally have a risk of leading to headaches. Check the labels of the foods before you buy them. Foods that have monosodium glutamate also cause migraines. These are normally found in Chinese food preparations. They are common to all ready to eat Chinese food packs.

MSG foods should not be given to children under 12 months as they damage their digestive system. Store bought potato chips may also have added MSG. This is added as a preservative to help retain the quality of the food. Watch out for foods that have nitrites in them. Bacon is one such food. It acts as a silent killer. Stay away from beer and other alcoholic drinks. Since they are intoxicating they tend to play havoc on your system and cause minor headaches.

Hangovers can last for a few hours to a few days. Limit your intake of caffeine to stay away from headaches. Chocolates must be avoided as well. Dark chocolate is safe though. Eat fruits when they are fresh before they begin to age. Once a fruit begins to age it give out certain chemicals that are harmful to your system. Avoid over ripe bananas, figs, avocados, apples and grapes. Avoid canned and processed meats. If you must eat them then choose fresh meats over preserved ones.
