Halitosis, the medical terminology for bad breath is a condition where bad or foul smell comes from the mouth. This could be a result of food particles being logged in your mouth, indigestion or poor dental hygiene. There are several remedies that can help you in this case.

One of the simplest things you can do is brush your teeth well. Make sure that you get rid of all food particles that are logged in your teeth. When you brush your teeth you must also scrub your tongue. This helps to remove all the bacteria that settle on your tongue.

Cardamom is known to be effective as a remedy against bad breath. Simply place a pod in your mouth and keep it there for when you are not eating anything. It helps to freshen your breath. If may cause a strong flavor in your mouth so avoid using it in the oil form.

Simmer fenugreek seeds in a pot of water for 15 to 20 minutes and let the water acquire the flavor of the seeds. Strain the mixture and use it as a mouth wash to rinse your mouth at regular intervals.

Fresh fruit and vegetable juices are known to help to decrease the bad odor from your breath by helping to rinse it out.

Chop parsley into small pieces and boil it in a kettle with 2 cups of water. When it cools down drain the leaves out and drink the water. This will help to get rid of the bacteria that cause the bad odor.

Guava that is not ripe helps to clean your mouth. It contains minerals like phosphorus and calcium that not only help to improve your breath but your over all health in general.
