Everyone talks about how beneficial it is to eat raw fruits and vegetables. What they do not talk about is why these raw veggies are so good for our health and what do we stand to loose if we do not indulge in these goodies. In a world where we are constantly rushing and we live on fast foods like pastas and pizzas there is little nutrition that we are offering our bodies. And you will notice that you are looking out for another snack within a few hours of eating any sort of fast food; the bottom line is that they do not offer our bodies the kind of nutrients that they need.

Getting into the raw food culture is not easy; neither is it a difficult task. You need to prepare your body to accept these foods and this can be done by prepping your body for the changes. You need to start with focusing your mind on the goodies that raw veggies will offer you. This will help to keep your mind off processed foods that are normally laden with chemicals and artificial preservatives. The next step is to incorporate the raw veggies into your diet. This is where most falter for lack of knowledge. A few handy guidelines will help you out.

Start your day with a fruit breakfast. Despite popular belief you need not have a heavy breakfast; this slows you down. Keep chomping on fruits until lunch time. The fresh nutrient that the fruits will offer you is no match for any other foods. Fruits are a great way to incorporate raw foods into your diet. At lunch time hit the salad bar; that is the place where the goodies are stored. Make sure that your salad comprises of 80% vegetables and 20% dressing and not the other way around. Keep dressings simple; olive oil and salt and vinegar are the healthiest options.

Snack on vegetables like peas, carrots and cherry tomatoes during the day to keep you away from any fast foods. Mix dry fruits and nuts for a delicious snack option, the nutrients and natural sugars will give you the energy boost that your body demands. They also help to increase your immunity.
