Breast feeding is the best diet for your baby. A baby needs to be fed in every two or three hours. You must understand the signals that your baby shows when he/she is hungry. Listen to the sucking sounds or concentrate on expression to understand your baby’s hunger. Every mother understands her baby’s needs so you should not worry about it. But it is important to nurse your baby as early as helps to keep your breast soft. It avoids bulge or inflammation.

Right amount of milk for baby
What is the right milk-amount for your baby? This answer is given by your baby only. Notice how many times your baby is wetting diapers and how many times stools come everyday. If the breast feeding is sufficient, then your baby will urinate six to eight times and make bowel movement for two to three times. In spite of feeding your baby regularly, if you still notice inappropriate stools and urine count, consult doctor. Also measure your baby’s weight. Your baby will gain weight normally with proper amount of breast-milk intake.

Avoid tenderness
If you are not breast feeding your baby correctly, it can cause tenderness on your nipples. Understand how your baby opens mouth and rotates tongue during the breast feeding process. Maintain correct positioning of your baby while breast feeding. One of your hands must be on the back of your baby’s neck and head and the other hand must be giving support to your breast. During this process, your baby’s hips, shoulder and ears must be in a straight position. This should be done for the first six weeks of the breast feeding process. When you are done with feeding your baby, wait for the baby to open his/her mouth and then pull your breast out slowly. This nursing process can last from ten to forty-five minutes. The more you nurse your baby, the more milk it will produce.
