How to Build your Memory and Increase your Intellect

When you indulge in activities that increase the amount your brain works; you automatically increase your memory and boost your natural brain functioning. There are certain foods and activities that help you to do just that.

The first thing that you need to do is to decrease the amount of alcohol you consume, if possible you must avoid drinking alcohol completely. If you are looking at increasing your memory then it is imperative that you keep your alcohol consumption to a minimal. Research states that drinking low amounts of alcohol prevent cardio vascular diseases; however when you drink alcohol in excess then you put your body at risk of shrinking your brain cells.

The next important step in the process to increasing your intellect is to decreasing the number of neurotoxins. These neurotoxins are present is preservatives that are added to foods, and chemically altered foods. These chemicals are harmful to your body and they affect the normal functioning of your body. Eliminating pollutants from the environment is impossible but reducing the amount of pollutants that you ingest is a definite possibility. Using organic products, whole grains and natural fragrances reduces the amount of toxins in your body.

There are certain fragrances that help to increase the amount of oxygen supplied to the brain. This extra oxygen will help to improve learning, increases energy and initiating positive moods. Frankincense and sandalwood are two such fragrances that help to increase the amount of oxygen in the blood. You can add these in the form of aromatic oils to your bath or in diffusers or burn candles and incense sticks.

The brain requires huge amounts of energy to function and hence it needs to get adequate amounts of rest to be able to get the energy. A good way to energize yourself is to go to bed at the same time daily. If possible get a few minutes of rest during the day. Eat a balanced diet but keep your meals light and avoid caffeine.

These tips are sure to help you to help you increase your memory and help your brain to function well.
