How to Care for Your Nails Between Manicures
A manicure is a great way to revive your nails but most of us can’t afford to get nail jobs every week as much as we would like to. It is best to pay attention to the finer details that will help to keep your hands safe and healthy. Your hands give away your age and if you do not care for them then they may make you look older. Sometimes you need manicures in order to maintain the health of your nails. You may maintain a healthy diet and be in the best health but your nails may not reflect that; in this case you need some extra pampering.
In order to keep your hands and nails healthy you must not place your hands in water too often. Exposing your hands to water for too long will strip out the moisture from your skin and this will lead to loss of water; thus making your skin dull and lifeless. When you are doing household chores like the dishes, moping or laundry you must use rubber protective gloves. This protects you from prolonged water exposure and also ensures that you do not have harmful detergent touching your hands.
When you are filing your nails; do not use the nail file as a saw. Use the nail file in only one direction to prevent breakage and damage to the nail. You must also use the nail buffer in the same way. This prevents excess loss of nail mass on the surface of the nail. Buffering your nails is the best way to show off healthy clean nails in between your manicures. You also have the ability to keep your nails without polish and let them breathe when you only use a buffer on your nails.
Soak your nails in warm water with some body wash in order to clean them after your nail polish has chipped. Clean your nails with a clean brush and then remove the left over traces of your nail polish. Always make sure that your hands are clean and dry in order to keep them healthy.
