
When I read about heart burn syndrome when I was a young child I could not imagine how ones heart could burn. The though was quiet scary and I always hoped that my heart would not burn. At that age I thought once my heart burnt I would not have one and then I would not be able to love anyone. Gone are my days of innocence and I have now grown up to be one of those people who suffer from heart burn due to all the spicy foods and fried food I eat almost everyday. It’s shocking to know that 60% of us suffer form this every year and it is definitely a cause of concern.
Heart burn is also known as Acid Reflux and the symptoms include a burning sensation in the stomach and chest, hoarseness and coughing. When you suffer from heart burn you generally are aware that you are suffering from indigestion and you will experience severe discomfort. This is dangerous because it can lead to cancer if you do not treat it immediately.
If you suffer from heart burns regularly then you need to change your diet. If you eat foods that are too spicy or those that cause acidity then you must stop eating those immediately. You also need to change your eating style. If you do not chew your food well enough and gulp it down; it could be the cause for your uneasiness. In order to take care of this you must spend time eating your meal by chewing it well. Eating smaller meals rather than binging at single sessions is also a good way to combat heart burn sensations. Also you must not sleep as soon as you complete your meal. Loosen your clothes if they are very tight and rest for a few minutes after your meal before you start any activity; this will ensure that your food digests well and gets processed.
Acidity is also caused by smoking. If you smoke then you must give up this habit in order to maintain your health. You must also ensure that you reduce any stress in your life. Stress will increase the amount of acidity that you experience and it will be the cause of you getting seriously ill.
If you experience severe discomfort then blend ginger root with green tea and drink it with a hint of honey and lemon. This will help you to relax and reduces the burning sensation that you experience.
