How to Cope with the Physical Symptoms of Anxiety
Some of the physical symptoms of anxiety include a racing heart, palpitations, and shortness of breath, slow heart rate, dizziness, nausea and diarrhea. Other symptoms include frequent urination, choking and feeling of an out of body sensation. In order to take care of these symptoms you must first list down all the symptoms that you experience when you are suffering from anxiety.
You must make yourself consciously aware of the symptoms that you may experience when you are suffering from anxiety. The next step is to make your body aware of the fact that there is in no way any harm that can be caused to your body as a result of these anxiety attacks. Once your body is able to understand this fact it will be able to function better.
You also need to learn breathing and relaxation techniques. This helps to regulate your breathing and prevents suffocation and increase in the heart beat as a result of the anxiety. When you begin to feel anxious; breathe in and count to 4 when you are doing so. Take a brief pause and then breathe out for 4 counts.
Aromatherapy always helps to lower your anxiety levels. You must invest in lavender and chamomile oil and candles and use them as and when you begin to feel anxious. Add a few drops of lavender oil to your bath and soak in the water for a few minutes. The oils help to relieve the stress and anxiety in your body and help to relax your senses. You can also blend chamomile in your tea and brew it for a few minutes and sip on the tea. It will help you to relax and calm your senses with each sip.
You must relax for a few minutes before you go to bed. Find a spot in your room and practice meditation and breathing and relaxation techniques every night before you go to bed. You may also burn candles and aromatic oils to help you to relax.
There are several homeopathic drugs that are available and they are helpful in the cure of anxiety. These drugs are extremely effective however one must make sure to administer these drugs only under the guidance of a professional.
