
The yellow fever which was dreaded so many years ago is actually not that scary anymore. It can easily be cured with medical guidance and some simple treatments which can be found in the kitchen itself. The one thing you have to bear in mind is to cut off all greasy & spicy foods from your diet for at least six months. Eating non spicy food is not exciting at all, but it is a good way to detoxify your body and maybe even loose weight by eating healthy.
The first thing to do is drink a lot of fluids especially water. Apart from water, the intake of vegetable juices is also very beneficial for jaundice. Try drinking tomato, beet root, carrot and bitter gourd juice everyday. Obviously, you are thinking about the horrible taste each one these will have, try squeezing some lime in your juice, this will not only make it taste better, but also help in curing the jaundice.
Bottle gourd is another vegetable that is highly recommended for jaundice. Try steaming some, garnish with mild seasoning or steam along with tomatoes and mash to be had as a soup. Squeeze lime and add some pepper before eating.
Ginger is also another ingredient that is very beneficial when recovering from jaundice. Try adding ginger to all your meals as a seasoning. Ginger can be added to vegetables when making a soup.
Try drinking some fresh not canned sugarcane juice. Apart from this even barley water is recommended for jaundice. Make sure you make this at home, which is much better than the packaged ones available in the market. Boil a fistful of barley seeds in about 1 liter of water, when the water comes to boil, reduce flame and let simmer for about 20 mins. Let the water cool. Lime and honey can be added to this, to make it a refreshing drink. Have this everyday, at least twice a day.
When recovering from jaundice, one always feels very weak and is low on energy, which is why it is important to eat a lot complex carbohydrates like fresh fruits and vegetables. Try eating a fruit every hour, the natural sugars will provide you with the required energy.
Adding honey to your liquids will also be beneficial, as it has complex sugars which are required for the body.
