I woke up every morning for months after my baby was born and I sneezed for 45 minutes. I thought it was a dust allergy so I changed the linen daily, including the curtains. That did not help and the sneezing continued. I then thought it was an allergy to a pet in the house and so I gave it away but the sneezing did not go away so I bought the pet back home. I then stopped sleeping in the air conditioned bedroom and moved to the guest room, but that did not help either. I gave up in frustration and dealt with the sneezing for months. When I stopped breast feeding the sneezing disappeared as well. Strange but true! I wondered what the connection was, till this day I have no clue.
Allergies are of various kinds. You can have allergies to the environmental conditions, allergies to food (very common) and nasal allergies, the kind I suffered from. Each of them has their own cause and treatments as well as precautionary measures.
Allergies due to the environment
In some cases dust mites, pet danger, increase in the pollen count and pet fur can cause an allergy. If this is the case then you must avoid these situations. Keep pets away from the house and avoid moving outdoors on days when the pollen count is high. Dust your living space well and change your linen frequently.
Allergies caused by food
Food allergies can include intolerance to dairy, allergic reactions to nuts and eggs, fish and shell fish. If the allergic reactions occur in early childhood then they generally disappear by the age of 5. However in some case they stay on for life.
Nasal allergies
Nasal allergies are caused by irritation in the nasal passage. This causes constant sneezing, blockage in the nasal passage, inability to breathe, runny and itchy nose, redness and watery discharge from the eyes.
