Make sure that the area is broad enough around the toes and that they are not squeezed together.
Take into consideration that you would be wearing socks as well. Wear cotton socks and avoid materials that generate heat and cause your feet to sweat. Stick to natural fiber like cotton as it would absorb the sweat as well as allow your feet to breathe.
Change your socks everyday this is not only hygienic but also would help save you a lot of embarrassment incase you decide to take off your shoes for an occasional stretch.
Soak your feet for about 30 minutes in a bucket of hot water with a handful of rock salt. This has a very soothing effect and is very effective in relieving the pain. Make sure that the water is not very hot as this would lead to you getting burnt.
Pat your feet dry with a towel and massage them for a few minutes gently to help increase blood circulation. Do this at least three times a week. You could also add crushed mint to the the water instead of salt.
