How to Eat Healthy at Work
The thought of eating at the office cafeteria can be a turn off for most employees, yet you feel that you are left with no option. From having no options to choose from every lunch hour to wondering how stale that waffle is, you are left with limited choices. Fear not, for there are a few simple ways for you to spice up your lunch hour and eat healthy at the same time.
Firstly, try and grab a heavy breakfast in order to avoid hunger pangs during the day. If you do not have time for a breakfast at home, try to have an ‘on-the-go’ breakfast. Grab a bagel or waffle and chomp it on the subway to work. You will see several others doing the same thing.
Pack a lunch. It doesn’t need to be fancy. A few sandwiches or a hot dog made at home will do you a world of good. Try a salad once in a while, it helps you eat healthy and stay refreshed. You can choose a dressing of your preference. You could also carry a left-over dinner and spruce it up with some pastas or bread. Always keep a few nuts handy. They help as fun snacks and keep you away from crisps and chips.
Do not shy away from the cafeteria completely. Look for the salad bar or the sandwich aisle as a healthy option. If not, then try the local deli around the corner. They will always have a healthy option of your choice.
Stay away from snack foods and energy bars as they load you up on calories and add pounds to your weighing scale. Opt for a soup instead. If you can’t get one at the cafeteria then carry a pouch with you that just needs hot water added to it.
Make sure that you have a healthy dinner daily in order to avoid hunger pangs early next morning.
