Over time various stretch mark treatments have been developed which help to reduce stretch marks on the skin caused due to pregnancy. The best cure for stretch marks however is to prevent it from occurring. Women who are pregnant and body builders as well can use these tips to help avoid getting stretch marks.

It is important that you resist the urge to scratch your skin. Sometimes due to the expansion of the muscles and tissues in the body the skin tends to expand. This happens so that the muscle can be accommodated and covered with skin. When this occurs there is a considerable amount of irritation caused due to the expanding skin. You must avoid scratching your skin especially at this time. You could use a moisturizer to help soothe the skin and reduce the itchy feeling. The moisturizer would also help prevent the skin from cracking and provided it with elasticity. Itchy relief powder can also be used to reduce the urge to scratch your skin.

Pregnant women tend to visit the restroom more often. This is quite discomforting for them and most often than not to avoid visiting the restroom so often they cut down on their intake of water. This should be avoided and you should have plenty of water as this keeps the skin hydrated and reduces the chances of stretch marks.

Keep a watch on your diet and avoid putting on weight too rapidly. Controlling your weight is one of the best treatments for stretch marks. Avoid consuming junk food as it is unhealthy both for you as well as your unborn child. Eat healthy and have food that contains vitamins A, C, D and E. These vitamins help promote healthier skin. You can also improve the elasticity of your skin by having protein rich food which is rich in zinc, omega 3 fatty acids and silica.

You also need to exercise appropriately. Exercise not only helps weight control it also helps to build strength and stamina which you would require at the time of delivering your baby. Exercise helps to keep the skin toned and supple thus helping to avoid stretch marks.

    Anything that causes a change in body size can cause stretch marks. So gaining or losing weight or muscles rapidly will cause stretch marks. It’s especially noticeable during pregnancy and puberty. However as someone who is physically training you will also notice changes in muscularity.

    The skin contains a property known as collagen which gives it that stretching and elastic quality. The best way to reduce stretch marks and prevent them from forming in the first place is to keep your skin well nourished.

    There are creams available that have a high content of vitamin E and collagen that should do the trick. I would also suggest keeping weill hydrated and drinking lots of water.
