People are advised that smoking is injurious to their health and the same goes for drinking as well. There are people who are addicted to other substances apart from smoking and drinking which causes far more damage to the body than either smoking or drinking. No I’m not talking about drugs I’m talking about an addition to sugar. Many people are addicted to sugar and crave for sugar. What this leads to is an unfit body and a hyperactive mind.

Many have tried in vain to overcome this addiction to sugar and have failed as they were misguided or because they were too weak. In order to be able to fight this addiction a person needs to first of all want to be cured must have a very strong willpower and secondly must be willing to persevere the want to get over this addiction. The task of overcoming this addiction is difficult however the results are real and can be touched and felt. People who have managed to overcome this addiction have confessed to feeling better and healthier than ever before. This is possible as the supply of refined starches and sugar is now reduced to the body.

The first step that you should take to help yourself get over this addiction is to realize that you have a sugar problem which needs to be dealt with immediately. If you are able to realize this then half the battle has already been won. The next step that you should take would be to start ensuring that your body receives the essential foods that it requires for it to function properly. This would also help reduce the sugar cravings.

Your diet should include a good portion of fats such as butter, coconut oil or olive oil. Very often the body craves for sugar due to the lack of other essential nutrients and minerals and fat soluble vitamins. Avoid having processed foods instead opt for sprouted breads and whole foods. Ensure that you have plenty of foods like fish which is high in protein. Once the protein balance ion the body is restored it would automatically stop the craving for sugar. If you do come across a strong sugar craving have a piece of an apple. Ensure that you have plenty of water as sometimes lack of fluids in the body is misinterpreted by the brain as a craving for sugar.
