
It is a known fact that when we eat right we stay right. However it is difficult in today’s day and age to take care of ourselves due to the kind of lifestyles we tend to lead. Long working hours, very short or no breaks to enjoy a proper meal leads to an unbalanced diet. Too much intake of beverages like tea, coffee, sodas etc have all contributed to poor health and various health related issues.
It is important that one should try and have at least five serving of veggies during the day. One should try to include fruits and vegetables as a part of their daily meals. Vegetables obviously can be consumed along with the meal while fruits should be had after the meal. End each meal with a tall glass of water before consuming any fruit. After dinner it is advisable to take a short stroll to help in the digestion of the food and one should avoid going to bed immediately after having dinner. During summers it is easy to obtain vegetables as there are fresh crops that come into the market however as the winter draws nearer it gets rather difficult to obtain fresh vegetables.
During winters one should avoid the consumption of pre processed foods and instead should opt for what is available during the season. This would also help ones eating habit change which is a good thing as we tend to get bored eating the same foods over and over again. Winter is a great time to experiment and try out different foods. During this time there is an abundance of roots available like turnips, sprouts are also available and are delicious and also rich in minerals and proteins.
Avoid beverages like tea and coffee frequently during the day as these tend to drain the life out of you instead opt for fresh fruit juices or water as these are more refreshing and tend to be more beneficial to the body as they contain fructose which is utilized by the body to build strong bones and muscles, besides they are great energizers as well.
