How to Flush Your Liver
October 5, 2009
In order to stay healthy and have a well balanced body it is important to regularly flush out the toxins which get accumulated inside the body. The liver is an important organ that takes care of multiple bodily functions. It is the primary organ that helps to flush out impurities from the body and requires to be maintained so that it can carry out its functions without any problems. A liver flush is a great way to get rid of all the impurities within the body and help the liver cleanse itself as well.
A liver flush is a relatively new concept in health care and is not a very familiar one however it has proved to be very beneficial to the body and helps to improve the overall health of the body. Unlike other procedures which might require you to get admitted in a hospital or look for medical attention a liver flush is relatively easy and can be carried out at home itself. It not only helps to cleanse the liver but also helps to detoxify the gall bladder as well.
Once you have decided to cleanse your liver you need to prepare for it in advance as it would take about 6-7 days for the entire procedure. Though it is a lengthy process it is relatively simple and easy to follow. When you start for the first 4-5 days eat plenty of apples. If you’re unable to get fresh apples then you could opt for apple juice. On the 6th and the 7th day drink a glass of apple cider every two to three hours as this helps to ensure a successful liver flush. On the 6th day also ensure that you have a very light breakfast as this helps to build up bile in the liver.
Bile causes pressure to buildup in the liver causing it to eliminate any stones or impurities from the liver. To further boost the liver cleaning process you need to make a mixture of Epsom salt and water. This tastes rather bad however you may add a spoon of vitamin C to it to give it a better taste. The mixture can be prepared by mixing 4 tablespoons of Epsom salt to 3 cups of water. This mixture should be refrigerated. At about 6 pm on the 6th day drink about 3/4th of a cup of this mixture. Again at about 8 pm have another 3/4th cup of the mixture.
Once you’ve done this the next thing that you need to prepare for the liver flush is a mixture of extra virgin olive oil and grapefruit. Half a cup of extra virgin olive oil should be put in a jar and a grapefruit should be squeezed into the jar. Any pulp that the grapefruit may have should be scraped into the jar as well and this should then me shaken up well till it becomes a liquid. At about 10 pm have this entire jar as quickly as possible and then lie down in bed.
It is important that once you have had this concoction you do not do any physical activities just lie in bed on your right side with your right knee bent upwards towards the chin for about 20 minutes. When you wake up the next morning have another 3/4th cup of the Epsom salt mixture and try and go back to sleep for another two hours after which you should have the last dose of the Epsom salt mixture.
Now that you’ve finished don’t start eating solid foods right away. You should have clear liquids till the diarrhea stops. Start on semi solid foods to help your system get used to digesting food again.
