Blackheads are a hindrance to your natural beauty. If you have oily skin, then you are more prone to blackhead formation on your skin due to the production of the sebaceous glands in excess. When the oil is released onto the surface of your skin and it is not taken care of immediately, they tend to sink deep into the skin causing a formation that gets discolored over time. These are blackheads.

Remedies to ward of blackheads

A number of beauty therapies involve you poking at your skin to get rid of the blackheads from deep within; however they tend to cause long term damage to your skin. Instead of these treatments, you can first try out a few home remedies that are safe and effective.

Honey, seems to be one of the most effective ingredients in the treatment of blackheads. Pour a thick layer of honey on the affected area and let it stay for 15 to 20 minutes. This will help to dry the blackheads from deep within without causing damage to the surface layers of the skin. Wash it off with cold water and follow up with rubbing the area with ice cubes.

Another effective remedy involves the juice of a lemon mixed with cinnamon powder applied to the entire affected area. Let the juice stay on for about half an hour and then wash it off with cold water. Don’t use soap or face wash on your face immediately after applying the mix on your face. The mix will act as a facial scrub that helps to eliminate the blackheads off your face.

Green tea is effective as a facial scrub that helps to remove the blackheads form the surface of the skin without causing harm to it.

Drinking plenty of water helps to cure from the inside out. Water helps you to flush out the toxins from your body; thereby eliminating the waste and the excess oils as well. This reduces the possibility of blackheads on your skin.

Washing your face regularly with warm water and a mild anti septic soap helps to clean your skin and remove the dirt and oil that leads to the formation of blackheads. After the wash you can apply a paste of blended mint leaves and leave it on your skin in order to let the nutrients be absorbed by the skin. This helps to dry out pimples and clears the skin from scars.
