Dark patches under the arms are unsightly and yet so common. Using too many products like roll on deodorants, perfumes and shaving are the main factors that give rise to these dark patches in the area. If you do not take adequate care you will end up with the patches getting darker and this will be almost impossible to get rid of. You need to act the moment you notice the marks under your arms. Your choice of clothes and confidence levels will be affected if you do not act soon.
If you notice the patches getting darker and spreading to the regions under your neck then you must visit a doctor soon. The patches may be an indication of diabetes.
If dead skin is the reason for the patches under your arms then you must use a good body scrub to polish the area. Use it gently; do not rub with force and try to get the patches cleared in one session. It will take time and your persistence will show results. Use the body scrub no more than twice a week. You can also rub a lemon skin on the area and then massage with vitamin E oil or cream before you go to bed at night. If the marks are extremely then you can use a skin lightening cream on the area at night time.
You must ensure that you do not use too many deodorants; avoid the roll on kind completely. If you have hair under your arms then avoid shaving it; instead wax it off or use a hair removal cream. When you bathe make sure that you wash the area well and use a soap that is not scented; sometimes fragrances cause skin darkening and can be the cause of your condition. When you are out in the sun do not forget to use sunscreen under your arms as well. This will help to prevent further darkening. Instead of using a perfume spray or deodorant use powder on your underarms to keep you free from sweat and prevent darkening in the region.
