How to Have Healthy Youthful Looking Feet With Home Care

Healthy feet are those devoid of dry skin, calluses and peeling skin. Wearing sandals and open shoes can cause discomfort in the form of foot disorders and calluses. In order to have healthy feet one must avoid wearing foot wear that is not flattering to the feet. In addition to that the hot weather has a way of causing havoc on your feet and hence one must take care to moisturize your feet well at this time.

If you have dry skin on your feet; then start with soaking your feet in a tub of warm water. If the skin has caused cracks on your feet and is bleeding then you must use a peppermint foot lotion in the water to reduce the soreness on the feet and prevent bleeding. Soak your feet in the warm water for about 20 minutes and then wipe them dry with a wash cloth.

Use a pumice stone on the ball of your foot and rub in circular motions. This will help to exfoliate the dead skin on your feet. You will see the skin peeling off in layers. Do not attempt to get rid of all the dry skin in one sitting. The process will take a few days of attention.

Once you have taken care of the dry skin on your feet, wipe them dry and then use a rather healthy amount of petroleum jelly on your feet. Cover your feet with thick woolen socks to lock in the moisture. Keep your feet in these socks for a few hours and you will revel younger, healthier looking feet.

Repeat the actions till you get the results that you desire. You must remember that soaking your feet and exfoliating daily will not help but you can try it twice a week. If you wear closed shoes then you must wear socks to keep the skin on your feet healthy.
