How to Help a Mentally Exhausted Person

Today’s age being a computer age is full of professionals who are mentally exhausted at some time or the other. They work in mentally demanding professions and get mentally exhausted. They show symptoms of being forgetful, and are generally doing right things at the wrong time. These professionals are very determined in doing their work and believe they are working real hard. But results are far to the contrary and they are found to be less productive due to the increase in their mental activity.

A friend or a relative or someone whom the mentally exhausted person has good faith in can help this person. He may be snappy, irritated and is all the time worked up and only such a person can advice him on how he can relax and regain or increase his mental ability to do a good job.

One of the best ways to charge the batteries of this mentally exhausted person is to suggest he take time off to go on a short vacation. Vacation does not mean he has to spend a fortune doing so. Just a vacation in a place full of the nature and its abundant beauty can help to make the person feel so full of mental and physical strength. The person should make sure he does not carry his laptop or mobile with him. When he is trying to get over his exhaustion reminders of work and the work place he has left behind may only hamper his efforts in doing so.

Next is that a mentally exhausted person should divert some of his efforts in becoming more physically active. Taking walks regularly in the morning or late evenings makes him feel real good. Joining a gym or a laughter club would make him physically active and mentally happy. All this could help him to mentally relax and recoup the energy lost. Spending quality time with the family or friends could help catch on news and also help one to get other things more enervating and enjoyable to think of.

Joining a club to play games like tennis, squash or swimming could help this mentally exhausted person get some physical activity that leads to mental relaxation. Besides one should avoid alcohol with lunch and stop smoking to overcome stress and mental exhaustion. Both smoking and drinking only sap on one’s energy in the long run.

I am sure all these tips would surely help a mentally exhausted person to relax and start working efficiently again.
