How to Improve your Complexion Naturally

May 18, 2009

Some people were blessed with an excellent complexion since birth while others need to work hand to maintain their skin. The effort that you put in; shows on your face and your other features. Fortunately getting a flawless complexion is not difficult. All you need to do is prevent your skin from damage and protect it from any further damage.

How to protect your complexion

You need to protect your complexion from the sun. Exposure to the sun can cause a tan which makes your face look dull and lifeless. It can also cause age spots and premature aging. Even in winter you need to protect yourself from the sun. What happens in winter is due to the extreme cold we tend to want to expose our skin to the slightest hope of the sun. Since we are unaware of the intensity of the sun due to the extreme cold we are not aware when the sun burns our skin and the after effects of this exposure.

Go not use soap on your facial skin very often as soap will dry your skin and make it look dull. Use a face wash instead; one that suits your skin type and will moisturize your skin while cleaning it at the same time.

You need to get rid of the dead skin cells on your face as well as clean your pores. To do this use an exfoliating face scrub. Use an almond or walnut based scrub for best results. You can use a cosmetic product or choose to make one at home.

Quit habits like smoking and alcohol. If you smoke you release hot smoke directly onto your face and this leads to wrinkles and fine lines around your eyes. Alcohol makes your eyes look puffy and swollen.

Sleep for at least 6 hours daily. The amount of undisturbed sleep you get reflects daily on your complexion. Lack of sleep results in puffy eyes and dark circles.
