How to Improve Your Health by Eating Garlic

Though many religions have negative connotations towards garlic; it is vital to your health. Eating garlic daily helps to cure various common ailments and hence is known to be an important item in Ayurvedic cures. The taste is pungent and can cause a stinging sensation and it is this sensation that helps to cure the ailments.

Garlic is effective in the cure of skin diseases like ring worm, eczema and low libido and erectile dysfunction. It is also known to be effective in curing sore throats and improving voice modulation. Garlic juice helps to improve memory, enhance complexion and improve eyesight. It helps to improve indigestion and decrease cardiac related problems. It is known to improve bowel movements.

Garlic has marvelous healing powers. It is known as nature’s anti biotic. Thus it helps to keep away viral infections and yeast infection. It was also used as a preventive and curative measure for anthrax.

Garlic juice or syrup is a great cure for sore throat and asthma. It is also used in the remedy for whooping cough and in the cure for chronic bronchitis. Many researchers have proved that garlic is an effective cure of cardiovascular diseases and helps to lower cholesterol levels drastically. Garlic has the ability to produce carcinogenic compounds and hence it has been effective in the cure of stomach and colon cancer. In the case of pregnant women; garlic keeps the blood pressure in control and helps to increase the birth weight of the child.

Home remedies

For asthma one must crush garlic and sniff the pods. The pungent odor that the pods emit will help to lower the risk of the attacks. Garlic juice also helps to prevent attacks. If you are at risk of asthma attacks then you must drink a few drops of garlic juice daily. You can mix the juice with hot water to reduce the pungent taste of it. Adding honey to the water helps to enhance the taste. This mix also helps to relieve sore throats.

Garlic with honey also helps to avoid rheumatism. If added to food preparation; garlic helps to aid digestion and ensures regular bowel movements.

If you are at risk of heart diseases; then you must eat a pod of garlic daily to reduce the risk.

Precautions

One must not overdo the amount of garlic that they eat as it may cause acidity or flatulence if consumed in excess. Avoid rubbing garlic or the juice directly on the skin as it causes burning and peeling of the skin.
