While we lay emphasis on our looks, skin and health we pay little to no attention to our posture. We must keep in minds that a good posture helps to look and feel better while at the same time making sure that you do not have unbearable aches and pains. There are a few exercises that you can follow to take care of your posture while at the same time you can also follow a few simple yet effective tips.

The first step as in any other treatment is awareness. You need to be aware of the posture that you follow. Look at yourself in a full length mirror. If you find yourself slouching or looking droopy then you need to improve your posture.

You must start exercising to tone your muscles. Often when your muscles are weak they tend to make you lean forward and slouch over your work. This causes bad posture and leads to back pain and neck sprains.

Poise yourself. When you walk you must stick your shoulders and chest outwards and hold your head up high. Walking tall will give you more confidence. In the case of those working at a desk or in front of a computer; avoid bending towards your computer screen or leaning forward over your writing material. If you are unable to see then there is a possibility that you need to have your vision checked.

A bad posture is often the result of too much activity. You will notice that if you have been walking excessively or running about for many hours you tend to slouch due to the exertion. The best thing here for you to do is to relax. Avoid over exerting yourself. It helps to take breaks in between your cores in order to relax your muscles and prevent over exertion.
