June 10, 2009

Insomnia is a sleeping disorder where the person suffers from lack of sleep or disturbed sleep. It is a disorder where sleep patterns are disturbed as a result the person tends to be lower on productivity throughout the day. If you are being challenged by your sleep pattern in the night then there are a few herbal remedies that are sure to help you out.

Herbal teas are known to be extremely effective in calming your nerves and helping to induce your sleep. You may not notice the change immediately but a few days of gentle sipping will have you resting through the night. Chamomile tea and green teas are quite effective to cure sleeplessness.

Place hop leaves and flowers inside your pillow case at night. The aromatic fragrances that are given out during the night will help you to snooze your stress away.

Avoid using herbs daily as it will reduce the effect eventually. You must take the herb but not let your body build dependence on it.

Celery juice is known to be effective in curing insomnia. Juice the celery to get 20 ml of the juice. Drink this every night before you go to bed for maximum results.

Mix nutmeg powder with a tea spoon of honey and consume this before you go to sleep at night. The concoction will help to relieve any aches and pains you may be in that result in sleeplessness.

Walking or exercising for 30 minutes after dinner is a good way to burn calories, digest the food you’ve eaten and induce sleep at night. Jogging at night helps to improve the quality of sleep, keep you away from tossing and turning and reduces the amount of time you need to fall asleep by half. It is best to jog on an empty stomach to prevent stomach cramps.

Use a hot water bottle on your back, feet or head to help to relieve stress and help you to fall asleep faster.
