In order to prevent bad breath you need to maintain oral hygiene. This includes taking care of your mouth and teeth. It is important that you take care of your oral hygiene to prevent tooth decay as well. You may buy the most expensive products but they are of no use of you do not use them in the right manner.

Rinse Your Mouth

You must remember to wash your mouth after you have eaten your food. Rinsing your mouth will suffice but it must be done. This helps to remove any food particles that get logged in between your teeth. You must pay more attention when you are wearing braces because the chances of food getting logged in between your teeth are greater. Flossing your teeth daily will also be beneficial. This will remove food that is logged in between the gums and teeth. Do not use too much force when you floss though as it may lead to bleeding gums. Rinse your mouth with water to loosen any particles after you have rinsed your mouth. In the morning before you brush your teeth; run the brush all over your teeth in order to remove the tartar from it. Tartar can lead to severe tooth decay.

Merely brushing your teeth with water and toothpaste will not keep your mouth clean. You need to clean the top of your tongue as well. All the food that you eat and the beverages that you drink get deposited on the tongue and this causes bacteria to thrive on the area. This can give rise to foul odor from the mouth that will be confused with bad breath or even tooth decay. In order to maintain oral hygiene brush your tongue you’re your toothbrush or use a tongue cleaner. Do not apply too much pressure on the area though.

Baking Soda

Using baking soda will helps to prevent any bacteria from surviving in your mouth. Brush the surface of your teeth with baking soda and rinse your mouth with warm water. This will clean the surface of your teeth and reveal brighter cleaner teeth. It will also kill any traces of bad breath.
