How to Live a Stress Free Life

May 26, 2009

Stress is a part of our lives whether we admit it or not. The lifestyle that we lead, the financial situation that we are in, our family woes are important factors that lead to the amount of stress we put ourselves through. We need to reduce our stress levels as it affects our physical health as well. Living a stressful life can lead to high blood pressure, high levels of anxiety and heart related diseases.

You need to set smaller more realistic goals. Do not try to makes changes that are life altering within a few days. Take time to let the changes settle in.

Make connections with loved ones. Often estrangement from family can cause emotional chaos and lead to extremely high levels of stress. Meeting with family over the holidays or with friends helps to take your mind of everyday stressors. Research proves that living in isolation has negative effects on your health.

You need to forget about the past and quit thinking about the future and focus on the present. Live in the current times to make life stress free. When you are out on a date or a gathering live for the moment rather than thinking about stressor in your life.

If a particular person or situation causes high levels of stress then you must make all attempts to avoid these situations and people.

Meditating helps to reduce your stress levels. Find a quiet place in your house, close your eyes and focus on the positives in your life. This will help to reduce your anxiety levels drastically.

Take a walk daily. The outdoors open a variety of colors, sights and sounds to you that help you to take your mind of every day stressors and help you to relax.

Looking at fish in a tank is known to reduce your blood pressure drastically.
