Losing weight can be a very tough job for anyone. Many programs and people claim that they can help you lose those extra pounds in a matter of days and weeks. Many people have even tried most of these programs and have come to only one conclusion that there is not other means to losing weight and burning extra calories other than hard work and religious exercise.
We live in a world which believes in instant gratification and the need to lose weight and look and feel good is not a new one. Going to the gym a few times a week does help you lose those extra pounds and also helps to burn those unnecessary calories however there are common everyday chores that if practiced daily would help you burn at least 200 calories per day. That’s right common everyday household chores would help you lose those extra pounds that you have managed to put on.
To start of with your ‘household exercise routine’ and lose weight while cleaning your surroundings you would need a few tools that would help you exercise. Invest in a good vacuum cleaner if you don’t already have one. If your house is not carpeted and collects a lot of dust during the day then buy a broom as well as a mop.
Start by vacuuming every room in the house. Make sure that you’re not a “top cleaner”. Get into all the difficult to reach nooks and crannies of your house by stretching to make sure that you reach them and get any dirt that might have got lodged there. Use any and all available attachments that came along with the vacuum. While cleaning drapes and those areas that are hard to reach however make sure that you don’t lose the opportunity to stretch due to the attachments.
When cleaning furniture make sure that you bend your knees when cleaning under them. While stretching; make sure that you stretch your arm as far as it will go while tightening your stomach muscles as well. Once you have finished vacuuming the entire house rest for a bit before taking a shower.
Similarly sweeping the house and mopping up after you have done that are great ways to keep in shape without having to pay for your fitness. Take a walk after dinner to help you digest your food and avoid going to bed immediately after your meals. Drink plenty of water. Avoid the urge to snack in between meals.
