You must start with removing all forms of temptations from the house. Stock up your kitchen with fruits and vegetables rather that snacks that are low on nutrition. This will help to keep your snack time healthy and reduce the amount of fat and sodium you consume. The entire family will benefit from these changes.

When you take a break; make sure that you are indulging in physical activity at this time. Playing with the children, taking a walk or jogging to the supermarket will constitute as exercise. Even 30 minutes of exercise every alternate day will help you to keep your weight in check.

Postpone your work if you have a flexible schedule. Working when the kids are in bed is the best as it helps you to be more productive. In the time that they are awake you are able to attend o the house and their needs. This helps to bond with the children while being able to exercise and hit the gym. Remember that there is no harm in taking the kids to the gym and letting them be aware of the benefits of exercise.

Most of the activities that children indulge in are physical. Thus playing games and sports like hockey, football and basketball or tag help to give you a full physical. Playing these games with the children for a few minutes will give you a full body workout. Whenever you have a few minutes to spare; use the hula hoop or use the jump rope.
