Performing small stretches and simple exercises can increase the flow of blood in cartilages and maintain a healthy ligament. A number of exercises along with early detection of osteoporosis can prevent much damage to the ligament.
Forward flexing: Slowly allowing one’s head to fall forward so as to feel the chin touching the chest. The moment the person feels the stretch of the muscles, he must remain in that position till the time he is at ease, at the most 30 seconds.
Backward flexing: Slowly allowing one’s head to bend backwards so that one can see the sky. The moment the person feels the pull on the front portion of the neck, he must remain in that position till the time he is comfortable, up to a maximum of 30 seconds.
Rotating right: The person while standing straight and the shoulders facing forward, must turn his head to the right. When he feels the stretch or pull of the muscles, he must stop and remain in that position until the time he feels fine, upto a maximum of 30 seconds.
Rotating left: The person standing straight and with shoulders facing forward must turn his head to the left till he faces the stretch of the muscles. He should stop immediately and remain in that position till he is comfortable, up to a maximum of 30 seconds.
Yoga benefits: Increase in flexibility, strength, creation of awareness in the body, mental clarity, relief from stress, increasing the lubrication of tendons, joints and ligaments are some of the beneficial effects of yoga. Yoga is, in fact, a total massage of the body parts.
Stress reduction: Osteophytes are caused at the joint margins. These are the results from extra stress one undertakes in his day to day life. Reduction of stress is essential to keep away from this disease.
Early treatment of Osteoarthritis: This disease is largely responsible for the slow damage of cartilage. Early detection can prevent osteoarthritis to damage the cartilage any further through a number of medications. Joint protection techniques are a very good way to have a healthy cartilage.
Ligaments are slightly stretchy connectivity tissues that ensure smooth movement in between the bones. As these ligaments have to deal with a huge number of stresses in the everyday work, injuries to these parts of the bodies take a long time to heal and come to normal position. Physical therapy and multiple surgeries are the only alternative in case of severe injury to the ligament.
