How to Moisturize Oily Skin

April 23, 2009

Oily skin is wicked. It makes your face look dull and lifeless and cause a array of disorders like acne, pimples and zits. If not cared for well it can create havoc to your appearance.

To maintain balance on oily skin you must exfoliate your skin well. Use an exfoliating cream with almond or walnut base twice a week. This helps to eliminate the traces of dead skin cells that make your skin look dull and lifeless. Use a face wash with exfoliating granules in it twice daily. Avoid rubbing your skin hard and avoid products with chemical bases. Choose natural base products instead as they will cause lesser irritation.

Use an alcohol base toner on your face and wipe it thoroughly throughout your skin. This helps to close any open pores and keeps out dust and dirt that normally gets attracted to your skin. Use an astringent on areas that are prone to zits and pimples.

You must also use a mud pack on your face regularly. His helps to remove the excess oils and grime from your face. The mud soaks the oils and cleans your pores thoroughly.

Now, the nest thing you need to do is use a good oil free moisturizer. There are several options to choose from but the best in my opinion is using Aloe Vera gel on your face. Since it is natural and cooling there is no fear of there being any side effects. The Aloe also helps to clear acne and pimples and reduces the occurrence in the future. You must pay special attention to your T Zone (your forehead, nose and chin). This area is prone to more oily secretion and hence needs to be given focused attention.

If you are on the go and are unable to wash your face then have a few wet wipes that you can use to wipe your face regularly.
