How to Moisturize your Hands
For those who have dry or combination skin; your hands are the parts of your body that are affected the most. And the worst part is that after your face; it is your hands that grab most of the attention. Having scaly, dry skin on your hands can be embarrassing and make you extremely uncomfortable, causing you to shy away from public situations. They can be painful as well if they get cracked and start bleeding. This is especially true of the winter months.
Home remedies to add moisture to your hands
Soak your hands in warm milk every day for1 minutes. The lactic acid in the milk will react with your skin and moisturize it instantly.
Exfoliate your hands with a natural body scrub or use a home made scrub with almonds or walnuts. Massage the cream onto your hands and add 2 to 3 drops of water. Continue to massage and add water occasionally. Do this for approximately half an hour. His will help to reduce the dry scaly skin on your hands. Wash it off with warm water. Immediately after washing your hands add lotion or oil to lock in your body’s natural moisture.
-Avoid bathing in very hot water. Use warm or cold water instead. Hot water dries up he natural oils in your body and leaves white patches on your skin.
-At night before you go to bed; use a deep penetrating lotion. Wear gloves to lock in the moisture.
-If you perform household chores like doing the dishes; wear protective gloves while doing so as the constant exposure to water and dish washing solution may cause harm to your skin.
-Use natural oils like almond and sesame on your hands to keep them well hydrated.
-Drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep your skin well hydrated. Avoid colas, sodas and drinks with caffeine in it as they steal the moisture from your skin.
