AIDS is Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome and a person generally doesn’t get that. The infection that mainly takes place is HIV, which is Human Immunodeficiency Virus. If the condition of HIV worsens in the body of infected person, then it gradually turns into AIDS.

HIV is a contagious and blood-borne disease that can spread the infection to a normal person from an infected person. HIV commonly spreads into the body of non-infected person by having any form of sex with an infected person or sharing inject-drugs or needles. When a baby is delivered by an infected woman, then the baby also gets the infection. This is a very dangerous disease, which has no proper treatment. Thus, it is important that we play safe and take some prevention to avoid HIV infection.

Refrain from Unsafe Sex
It is just natural to have sex. But you must be careful during the process and do not indulge into any form of risky love making acts. Engaging into oral sex or anal sex is highly risky as the direct contact of the fluids is more than enough to spread the virus. While doing vaginal sex, remember that condom is a must. If your partner insists for having sex without condom, do not get carried away. Always be sure that your partner is not infected with the virus.

Be Faithful
Be faithful to your spouse or girlfriend/boyfriend and try to have only one sexual partner. You know the physical status of your partner whether he or she is infected with the virus or not and thus you can enjoy the act without any risk of getting infected. Having anal sex or oral sex even with your husband or wife is still not suggested because both these acts make way for sexually transmitted diseases- STD.

Talk and Spread Awareness
Do not shy away from talking sex, at least with your partner. Before having sex, discuss about STDs and HIV and try to know about each others past sexual encounters or drug usage. Both the partners must conduct the HIV test before planning the act.

Open up with sex-related discussions. Maximum cases takes place due to lack of proper knowledge about safe sexual behavior. Consult with doctor and spread awareness for aids prevention.
