How to Prevent and Cure Acne through Proper Diet

We have all heard and read about how a proper diet can prevent an acne breakout and even clear existing pimples and zits. But, what compromises of a proper diet is anyone’s guess. Well, there are several things that you can and cannot eat in order to make sure that you have a clear complexion. Though there are a number of reasons why you may have an acne breakout; you diet contributes a great deal to how quickly it affects your skin.

Cutting down on the amount of fats that are included in your food will help your skin. That does not mean that you need to eliminate oils from your food completely; they are an essential part of your diet and hence you need to keep a close eye on the amount of oils that you consume daily. In order to have healthy glowing skin you must also make sure that you have a healthy diet that is balanced with nutrients, minerals and vitamins; in this way you automatically cut down on unhealthy fats.

Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables in the raw state. In this way you use consume lesser oil during the meal as well as get the benefits of all the nutrients and vitamins that the fruits and vegetables have to offer.

Vitamins A and C are extremely beneficial for your skin and hence you must eat plenty of carrots, avocadoes and oranges. You will benefit from these foods either in the fruit or juice form; though you stand to loose some of the nutrients when you break down the foods.

Not drinking the sufficient amount of water will also lead to the formation of acne and pimple breakouts. You must drink plenty of liquids. 8 glasses of water daily is recommended; though you must drink an extra glass for every glass of caffeine that you consume. Caffeine is dehydrating and hence you must drink plenty of water after a cup of tea or coffee.

You must also make sure that you do not consume high amounts of refined sugar. Avoid all purpose flour as well as it leads to formation of zits.

Maintain a steady diet and make alterations according to the effects of certain foods on your skin. You will be the best person to judge the kinds of foods that have an adverse effect on your skin.
