
Back aches are related to pregnancy, bad posture, uncomfortable footwear and irregular exercise. Applying pressure suddenly in a manner of trying to lift heavy things or exerting pressure suddenly causes your back to hurt.
Taking a hot bath always help. The hot water acts as a hot water compress and helps to relieve the pain and causes a soothing effect. Add essential oils like lavender or chamomile to help your muscles to relax and to reduce muscle tension. If you are not able to have a hot shower or bath and the pain is unbearable then apply a hot water bottle to your back and you will get some degree of relief.
Stretching before and after an exercise regime is a preventive measure while in the case where the pain already exists it helps to reduce the pain and relieve your muscles. It is best to stretch after a hot bath.
A back massage is relaxing and helps to reduce the stress in your back muscles. In some cases along with a back massage it is recommended to have a leg massage as well to get rid of the pain. It helps to reduce the muscle spasms.
Lay flat on your back and rest your back for a few minutes. If possible lay on the flat surface, preferably the ground. If your back ache is a result of an accident then resting your back will help to facilitate the healing process.
In addition to the above you must always choose comfort over fashion and style. Wearing footwear that do not flatter your posture or health in the long run will lonely cause you to have increased irritation and backaches. Sleep on a firm mattress that supports your back. If the aches are pregnancy related; then you must elevate your feet when you sleep at night. Also soak your feet in warm water daily and add peppermint to the water.
