A cavity is a pain, literally I mean. The agony one tiny tooth can cause you is unexplainable. Trust me, I know. Through my life I have had several cavities and I have let them get to a point where extraction was the only solution, but don’t follow in my footsteps. It’s a very dangerous path to thread on.
A cavity is formed by either lack of calcium or poor oral hygiene. The best part about it is that you have the power to control both of them.
Start with good oral hygiene. You must brush your teeth regularly, by that I mean once in the morning to get rid of the film of bacteria that form on your teeth and then at night to eliminate all food particles from your mouth.
You must also gargle your mouth after your meals, even if it is just a snack. You need not use expensive mouthwashes or gels to rinse your mouth; a simple warm salt water solution is equally effective.
You must also floss your teeth with dental floss regularly, this helps to get rid of any foods particles that may be logged between your teeth and takes care of bleeding gums as well. Flossing leads to healthy hearts and healthy teeth.
Always massage your gums with the toothpaste that you use. This helps to increase the blood circulation while getting rid of any stale blood that may be collecting in your mouth.
If you suffer from bleeding gums then there are a few herbal remedies that will help you. Mix peppermint or ginger in a cup of water and boil the water for about 20 minutes or till the quantity diminishes by half. When the mixture cools down then you must use it to rinse your mouth. Let it stay in your mouth for a few seconds before you spit it out.
To promote the health of your teeth you must also eat food that is rich in calcium. Milk and dairy products are a good option. Fish and chicken fall in this category as well. If you are not getting the required amount of calcium then you must speak with your doctor about getting supplements to fulfill your requirements.
