How to Prevet and Stop Nose Bleeding
Nose bleeds are potentially harmless yet they cause fear to children if they suffer from or witness a nose bleed. For adults it is embarrassing and attracts lots of attention. Nose bleeds are common in extreme weathers like extreme heat or cold.
How to identify the causes of nose bleeds?
Firstly you need to check the points of extreme heat and cold in your house. If your beds are located near a heating or cooling duct there is a possibility that that is causing the nose bleeds. Move your furniture away from ducts to prevent this in the future.
Eat foods that are high in Vitamin C content. Orange juice is a perfect solution for nose bleeds.
In order to prevent bleeding take a warm shower before you sleep and let the warm moist air enter your nostrils by breathing deeply. This softens your membranes and reduces the possibilities of bleeding.
Allergic reactions can cause bleeding as well. Make sure that all allergies are kept in control.
A child with a tickling nose is tempted to pick at it. Keep your child’s nails short in order to prevent scratching of the nose.
How to stop the nose bleeds?
If your nose begins to bleed hold your head back so that there is lesser gravitational force on your nose. This will lessen the flow of the blood. Plug your nose with cotton pads or tampons to soak in the blood and avoid dripping. Place a piece of toilet paper under your nose and apply pressure under your upper palette. This pressure will cause the blood flow to stop in a minute.
Let your lips relax. Don’t get nervous or anxious when your nose is bleeding. The anxiety will increase your blood pressure and in turn increase the flow of the blood.
