How to Protect Your Skin from the Harmful Effects of the Sun at Home

The sun’s ultra-violet rays causes harmful effects on the skin by promoting aging of the skin with wrinkles, brown patches and decreasing the elasticity of the skin. However one can use ingredients available at home to fight the harmful effects of the sun.

One can use sour curd and oatmeal available in ones kitchen to soothe the skin. Sour curd is good for sunburn. One can make a paste of curd of oatmeal and apply it on ones skin.  Besides buttermilk will also help to protect ones skin from the harmful effects of the ultraviolet rays of the sun.

Coconut oil and sesame oil can be used on dry skin and this also helps to protect ones skin from the harmful effects of  the ultraviolet rays of the sun. One can take 2 parts of coconut oil and 1 part of sesame oil, which is available at home and blend them together by heating them. When this mixture is cool one can add limejuice and store it in the fridge. A fifteen minutes massage daily with this mixture and a wash thereafter really helps. One should just pat dry ones skin.

One can protect ones skin from the harmful effects of the ultraviolet rays of the sun and can also have a glowing skin by using rice, cucumber and curd available at home. Grind rice add cucumber and curds. Using this mixture as complete bodies pack once a week helps one to have a glowing skin.

Vitamin C and beta-carotene helps to protect your skin from the harmful effects of the ultraviolet rays of the sun. So one should include vegetables and fruits like carrots, sweet potatoes, cherry, pomegranate, cucumber peaches, melon, grapes and pear which are available at home in ones daily diet.

In addition using peach and melon helps to improve skin texture while grapes help to tone the skin. Melons can be used even as cold compresses for tired eyes and papaya can be used to exfoliate dry skin caused by the harmful ultra-violet  rays of the sun. Besides fresh seasonal fruits mashed with oatmeal and chickpea prepared fresh daily helps to make an effective face pack at home.
