How To Reduce And Stop Belching
No matter how sophisticated we are; we all belch. It is caused when huge amounts of air enter into your mouth when you are chewing your food. When huge air pockets form in your body it has different ways to getting rid of the air and belching is one of the common eliminating methods.
The number of times you swallow saliva has a lot to do with the number of times you belch. When you swallow your saliva; a small pocket of air enters your system. When you are nervous you tend to swallow more saliva and this leads to huge amount of air entering your body. You must keep a track of the number of times you swallow your saliva and consciously make an attempt to reduce this act.
When you chew gum or inhale tobacco when you smoke you are allowing air to enter your body. Once again quitting these habits can help to reduce the number of times you belch in a day. A simple change on your lifestyle could go a long way. If you quit smoking completely then you mite be able to stop belching completely; given the fact that this is the cause of the constant belches.
Your eating habits are directly linked to the burping. If you chew with your mouth open or talk when you are eating; you increase the amount of air that enters your mouth. When the air enters your mouth it escapes the same way in the form of burps and belches. Chewing with your mouth closed and not talking during your meals is a great way to prevent embarrassing belches.
Avoid foods and drinks that have huge air content. Soufflés, beer, whipped cream, aerated drinks and canned beverages are all high in air content and hence one must avoid these foods. Certain vegetables and spices are known to have the same effect and hence one must take precautions to avoid them or eat them in smaller quantities.
