The thought of eliminating fats in your diet should not send you screaming and yelling. Weather you are looking forward to losing a few pounds or just toning up reducing fat from your diet will make you leaner.
A few tips to head you in the right direction
Decrease or eliminate animal fats and poultry from your diet completely. Everything from red meats to poultry, diary products like whole milk, cheese, yogurt and butter needs to disappear from your plate. You can opt for white meats like chicken and fish as a healthier option. Avoid eating chicken wings though as the skin is extremely high in fats. When eating or cooking chicken and turkey take care to remove the skin.
Increase the amount of fruits and vegetables in your diet. Eat raw veggies as far as possible but make sure you wash them well before you do so.
Change your recipes. If you are the kind of cook that sautés most food in butter or oil then choose to boil or steam your foods. Bake your vegetables but avoid dips and cheese as your along-side foods. You may use olive oil but do so sparingly.
Use non-fat options for dairy products like yogurt, cheese and milk. Keep a keen eye on the food labels and remember a low calorie does not mean low fat.
Snack on fresh fruits rather than chips, drink fresh juices rather than colas. Do not snack on nuts and dried fruits though as they are loaded with fats. Water is a healthy option. It helps to flush toxins and keeps you well hydrated.
If you have indulged with your food than you must take care and exercise well to get rid of the fats that you have loaded your body with. A brisk walk for thirty minutes will do the trick. Do not walk on a full stomach though.
