There is not a single person who I know that can state that they have not suffered from a heart burn. Our diets, eating styles, habits and lifestyle all contribute to the heartburn syndrome. Though it is natural to suffer from it occasionally, if you feel uneasy for more than 2 to 3 times a week then it means trouble and you need to seek medical attention. If you suffer from this condition occasionally; then a few herbal and home remedies will definitely help you out.

Ginger tea is very helpful when it comes to controlling and reducing heart burn sensation. When you are preparing your tea boil water and place a ginger tea bag in the water. Add honey to sweeten the tea if you please however it is not necessary. Let the tea bag seep for a few minutes and then place a clove and a piece of cinnamon in the tea. Filter the tea and drink it warm. It will reduce the sensation gradually.

If drinking this warm blend of tea does not give you any relief then you can try drinking cold water with the juice of a lemon. Do not add any ice to it and do not try drinking more than 200 ml of water. Drink it slowly. You can also try adding apple cider vinegar to the water to reduce the burning sensation.

Eating a handful of almonds is sure to put you at ease. The oil of the almonds will put you at ease and you will be able to reduce the burning sensation within a few minutes. You need to chew them well and eat them slowly. The unsalted variety is the best.

If none of the remedies that you have tried then this one needs to be your last resort before you go to the emergency room. Add baking soda to water and drink it; you will get a bitter disgusting taste from the drink but it will put you at ease instantly. It is one of the most successful cures for heartburn sensation.
