How to Reduce or Maintain your Weight

I once watched a television serial that said eating food after 7 does only one thing; adds pounds to your hips and waist. I wondered why till I researched further to find that there was indeed a lot of truth to the statement. After 7 you tend to do little to no work as a result everything that you eat just adds to your fat quotient for the day and since there is little to no activity these fats are not broken down in anyway. Based on this theory you can work about your diet and eating habits to favor your weight gain and loss or simply maintaining your weight.

The key is to eating a healthy lunch and evening snack but go easy on your dinner. Dinner should be a light salad or sandwich. Avoid eating carbohydrates like bread, pasta and rice at dinner time. These foods are rich sources of carbohydrates. These are difficult to burn and need rigorous exercise to burn them down. Red meats must be avoided as well. Choose protein instead. Eggs and fish like salmon and tuna would be a better option. You can have chicken as well but avoid the fried preparation. Grilled, smoked or baked chicken with a light salad is a good option.

Avoid eating after 7 in the evening. If you have had a heavy dinner then a brisk walk to burn off the extra calories is a must. This ensures that the fats that you’ve layered on will be burnt and avoid the extra pounds. Avoid any sweets or dessert preparations after dinner. You can instead have a fresh fruit of a glass of juice.

For a healthy breakfast a bowl of porridge or cereal with fresh or dry fruits is a must. A glass of orange juice will give you an energy boost due to the presence of Vitamin C.

Lunch hours should be between 1 and 2 pm. Have a heavy lunch as you have the rest of the day’s activities to perform. The energy that you get from your lunch will be burnt through the rest of the day.

You evening snack must be by 4 pm. Choose to have a sandwich or a bagel.

If you stay awake for more than 3 hours after your dinner, there is a tendency to snack on a few leftovers. Ignore this urge as far as possible. Do not have anything besides of course several glasses of water to keep your body well hydrated.
