Though the holidays are supposed to be a fun time where you spend time with the family it can be over whelming. In order to prevent getting stressed out at this time one must first understand the cause of stress. There are a few things that you can do to reduce the amount of stress that you undergo during the holiday period.

Though you may have a busy schedule you need to ensure that you get plenty of rest. Not getting the right amount of sleep will lead to fatigue or irritation and this leads to you getting stressed out. In order to prevent this you need to get adequate rest. It will help you to keep up to pace with the holiday demands.

Eat your meals on time. Though there may be many events planned around food you must ensure that you eat on time. If this means that you eat dinner before you set out for the night; so be it. Also in a frenzy to complete all the tasks you have set out for yourself and to be the perfectionist that you; you may tend to skip meals citing lack of time as the reason. This must be avoided.

Don’t bite more than you can chew. I mean this as literally as you read it. Eat smaller meals when you are out as well as when you have guests at your place. This ensures that you maintain your energy levels as well as gives you the fuel to perform all the activities that you need to. It also prevents acidity and digestive disorders.

Plan your events and don’t feel bad to gently refuse those that you are unable to carry out. If you need to get shopping done then it is best to do this in advance in order to avoid a rush and a crazy frenzy. Simplify the holidays as much as you can. This helps to keep stress at bay and also helps to get more done in lesser time.

Delegate some tasks to others in order to give you some respite as well as to reduce your stress.
