How to Reduce Stretch Marks Caused by Pregnancy

Every woman gets stretch marks during her pregnancy no matter what prevention she may take. It is natural for your skin to not be able to take the pressure of stretching more than it normally would and the results are wavy lines on your tummy, back, thighs and legs. They stay on like the evidence that proves you are a mother. I wore my marks proudly till the day we decided to go to the beach and I was ashamed to get into a swim suit. Fortunately with a little guidance and effort I was able to get rid of them.

You need to understand that these marks have appeared due to the tremendous pressure that has been exerted on your skin and hence you need to give your body some time to adjust and then normalize.

To get rid of pregnancy related marks you need to work from the inside to the outside. Drink several glasses of water daily. This keeps your skin well hydrated as well as flushes out toxins from your body.

Massage your skin with almond oil from the second trimester onwards. While you are pregnant do not exert too much pressure on your stomach, however post delivery exerting pressure while massaging your skin is a good idea as doing so will help the oil to penetrate deep into your skin.

Your diet needs to have a lot of fiber and fewer sugars in them. Fruits like melons and vegetables like carrots and radish are extremely healthy as well as help to reduce the stretch marks from your skin.

Stay away from caffeine drinks like coffee and colas as these dehydrate your skin and to get rid of the marks it is extremely essential that your skin is well hydrated at all times.

You will find several stretch mark reduction crèmes available. You can try any one of these. Look for those with natural ingredients like Aloe Vera.
