If you are like me and you have a sweet tooth then you have a huge task ahead of you to decrease the amount of sugar you consume.
Here are a few tips to help you reduce the amount of sugar that you gulp down daily.
-Instead of using sugar, try pouring honey into your tea and coffee. It is a natural healthier option that you will definitely benefit from.
-Avoid pouring sugar on your breakfast cereal and substitute it with fresh fruits. They have natural sugars and will add the sweetness that your body craves.
-When you are preparing rice and want to add sweetness to it add a cinnamon stick instead. Or add a pinch of cardamom. Either one will give you the sweetness that you desire. When preparing vegetables choose healthier option again. Sweet potatoes need no sugar while carrots are naturally sweet and can have cinnamon added to enhance its natural flavor.
-Replace your desserts with natural fresh fruit preparations like milkshakes and smoothies with your favorite fruits. There is absolutely no need to add sugar to fresh and seasonal fruits.
-Use a sugar free tablet in your coffee, tea or milk if you can’t resist the urge.
Not every spoon of sugar is evil, so you can take a chance to have some during the day, do not over indulge though. A maximum of 7 to 8 spoons of sugar will do no ham and you can treat yourself to a sugary dessert once a week.
