How to Regulate Your Periods and Monthly Cycle

If you are one of those women who are constantly fighting irregular periods then I have a few remedies for you. I suffered for a few years until I realized that a few changes in my diet and in my lifestyle would work in my benefit.

The first thing you need to do is to incorporate water into your diet. Most women do not drink enough water; this is the main cause of an irregular cycle. Avoid caffeine based drinks and beverages and opt for water. It will help you in more ways than you can imagine. You also need to include fresh foods into your diet. Processed and canned foods are packed with preservatives that have adverse effects on your health; in order to prevent irregular periods you need to eat foods that are fresh; the kinds that are loaded with minerals and vitamins. Always opt for fresh foods rather than frozen foods.

Food and drinks are not the only changes you need to make. Getting adequate exercise is also important. Though your schedule may be packed with physical activities you need to set time aside for exercising. This is the only time you can focus on yourself and the needs of your body. 20 to 30 minutes of exercising will help you to regulate your menstrual cycle. Most women believe that the physical exercise in their daily activities is enough to take them through but they are mistaken. Once you start exercising do not over do it; start with a plan and stick with it.

You also need to speak with your doctor about multi vitamins that will help you to regulate your periods. The food that you eat may not provide you with the vitamins that you need and hence it is important that you get all the nutrients that you body requires through multi vitamins.

Lastly you need to sleep in a room that is absolutely dark. Research has proved that sleeping in a dark room at night will help to regulate periods as light affects your normal menstrual cycle. Merely covering your windows with dark sheets can help you to get the darkness that your room deserves.
