How to Stop Over Indulging

Every person on the planet has over indulged at some point in their lives. Be it shopping, eating or drinking. Sometimes we even plan our binge sessions and after execution of the evil laid plans we are left with a burning sensation in your chest and in the back of your throat and several pounds more on the weighing scales sends you running for the hills.

After your bouts of over indulgence you first begin to wonder what possessed you to do such a thing and the next you are left waiting and wondering what can you do to feel better instantly? The answer is nothing. There is nothing that you can do to make you feel better immediately. You need to wait for your stomach to empty completely before you feel any relief.

If you’ve binged on food then do not lie down. It will take you longer to feel any relief as the digestion of the food will take longer. Take a brisk walk for a few minutes. This will increase your metabolism thus burning the food quicker. Take a mild antacid if you are feeling extremely acidic.

Alcohol overindulgence needs a different treatment. Load up on orange juice and water in order to feel any relief. The liquids will flush out the alcohol from your system and will still keep you hydrated. Drink a sports drink that has electrodes in it to maintain your body’s hydration. Eat a few pieces of toast as well. Pop a pain killer if you’ve got a nasty headache.

If you’ve pulled an all- nighter before an exam or to meet a deadline chances are that you will have a heavy head in the morning and even the chirping birds can upset you. Avoid carbohydrates in your food and head straight for the proteins. Load up on eggs, fish and lean meats through out the day. If you are drinking tea or coffee take a few small sips followed by a short break. This allows for the drink to react in your body. Take a 20 minute nap. The power nap will revive you immediately.

If shopping is your vice then there are a few rules. Firstly try and stick to basic requirements when at the mall. Increase savings at the beginning of the month in order to lessen your disposable income. If that doesn’t do it then cut up all store cards and credit cards in your wallet.
