How to Stop Snoring
Snoring is an annoying problem. If you have a snoring problem, not only it disturbs your spouse but at the same time it also creates hindrance in the way of your restful sleep. Snoring can be noticed among men and women both but it is more common with men. Most of the time, it makes people around you irritated or it becomes a good cause of joke. In most cases, it is ignored. This ignorance can cause several health problems. Thus, you must work out something to stop snoring. Here are few important tips to avoid snoring problem.
Take right food
Taking right food is one of the good natural remedies to stop snoring. Do not take heavy dinner. Full stomach encourages diaphragm to move upwards, which creates blockage in the air passage way. Thus, snoring occurs when the space in air passage way gets lessened. It is better to avoid pizza, cookies, cakes or chocolate before going to bed. Rather, a small portion of honey is very helpful to stop snoring. Avoid dairy products and stop drinking alcohol. You must also avoid smoking, at least before going to bed. Smoking results in sore throat and inflammation.
Adjust sleeping positions
It is noticed that snoring is common among those who sleep lying on their back. Maintaining this posture while sleeping causes tonsils, tongue, soft palate, uvula and backside muscles of the throat touch lightly with each other, which results in snoring. Try to sleep on your side. Put something soft but obstructive on the back of your night-attire and then go to sleep. Whenever you lie on your back, that object will create obstruction and you will take sideways to sleep. A tennis ball is a good example of such object. Also, sleep on a pillow, which is not very soft but firm. Sleeping in soft pillow persuades relaxation of throat muscles and makes the air passageway contracted.
Exercise to reduce weight
Overweight people are more affected to snoring problem. This happens because excessive weight narrows the air passage way and that results in obstructive sleep apnea. Exercise and reduce some weight to get rid of snoring. If still snoring continues, visit a doctor.
